Allows the airlines to SHARE RESOURCES - If the aircraft requires maintence, airline alliance engineers can support around the world. They also share lounges so passengers can use airport lounges around the world.
Allows the airlines to CODESHARE - They will publish the same route/same time so passengers can book it, but it may be operated by a different airline.
Allows for GLOBALISATION - more alliance partners, more routes they can serve their passengers.
Benefits to the airlines
Lower PRICES- By being a part of an alliance, it makes ticket prices more afforable as airlines are able to work together to share profits.
Shared LOUNGES - They can share lounges with their partners in airports worldwide.
Greater choice of DESTINATIONS - As alliances improve routes available to customers, they can fly further afield on just one booking.
Better and greater CONNECTIONS - They can book connecting flights to their final destination through just one ticket.

In order to be able to apply for the role of cabin crew with a UK based airline, the individual must first meet the entry requirements. Some examples of these include, but are not limited to, being aged 18 at the time of application, as well as having the ability to confidently swim 25 - 50 metres, including being able to tread water for 2-3 minutes without touching the floor or sides, and fit a lifejacket and manually inflate it. You must also have a travel time that does not exceed 90 minutes of the allocated base, as well as be able to securely fit a shoulder harness and lap strap in a crew seat without the use of an extension seatbelt.
