When it comes to a leader that I look up to, the first one that springs to mind is Bill Gates. Bill Gates was born on October 28th, 1955 in Seattle, Washington DC. He is an American business investor, philanthropist and CEO founder of Microsoft Corporation. He is also internationally acclaimed as one of the best known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. I first heard of him when I studied IT at my secondary school. I still remember vividly that I was so impressed by his quote in my textbook - “If you are born poor, it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it’s your mistake”. It really motivates people how to make the most of their life and overcome adversities in life. As time goes by, I have been able to understand him better through several video clips which he appeared on TED Talk. They are all so touching and fantastic. I personally find Bill Gates such an inspiring model for all young generations due to the fact that he has a heart of gold and a humble personality. You can see it obviously through his simple outfits, always with plain shirts and black trousers. Regardless of what he wears, he always has a dazzling smile and his eyes are filled with passion. He never shows off his wealth or even talks much about his achievements. Interestingly, he and his wife, Melinda, decide that they would give most of their wealth away. What really attracts me enormously about him is that despite making large amounts of money, he is one of the very few business people who doesn’t get hungry in earning money and starts giving away at an early age, which is very unusual. For that I think he’s very unique. Admirably, he is doing everything he can for the whole world, not just America. Together with his wife, through his Foundation, he offers scholarships to underprivileged students to make their dreams of a college education possible and donates a large amount of money to scientific research to make the world a better place. All in all, he indeed sets a perfect role model to live life to the full and have a meaningful life!
