Lewis Pugh swimming in the Antarctic ice sheet: calotte glaciaire
React to this picture

K. Switzer
“The perceptions of women back when I was running – amazingly enough just 53 years ago – were that you were going to get big legs, grow hair on your chest, your uterus was going to fall out.” Kathrine Switzer (interview with Sky Sports News)
=> Now watch the video (from Skynews) of K. Swirzer p172 and answer the questions.
The title “Your uterus will fall out!” may refer to the questionable prejudices people had about women who wanted to run. These prejudices were very narrow-minded and discriminatory, and also completely wrong and ridiculous. It is not true that running causes women to lose their uterus or grow chest hair or have big hairy legs. => Running does not make women masculine.
