The spread of metals

During the Bronze Age, people travelled to exchange metals like tin, copper and bronze. Tin was only found in certain parts of Europe, so it needed to be transported to other countries where it was mixed with copper to make bronze. People exchanged one item for another as they did not have coins. Tin, copper and bronze were valuable so many items would have to be exchanged for them. As a result, only wealthy people could afford weapons, tools or jewellery made from these metals.
