Producing and Sharing Podcasts The project Producing and sharing podcasts presents an up-to-date version of an approach experimented with since 2008. Due to the projects’ popularity and the increase of podcast offers, the Service national du RÉCIT, domaine des langues collaborated with BaNQ to offer a new platform that will host students’ podcasts. It is the opportunity to learn about the steps of the podcast production process, create a product for a real audience and mobilize various knowledge such as: - Use the inquiry process - Write an informative text that will be heard - Produce a podcast - Share a podcast on the new BaladoWeb platform (BaNQ) Develop your digital competencies The podcast genre can present itself in many types of discourse (argument, narration, description, and exposition). Whether it is a narrative or an interview to explain or describe a phenomenon, the possibilities are endless. This online course will focus on the production process of an informative podcast. A unifying project! Imagine being able to fully appreciate the urban heritage and many works of art around you, using your mobile device to locate the birthplace of a famous writer or a historic site, or even to do a virtual search of what is right in front of you? Talk about a great opportunity for discovering the diversity of Québec society and its territory! In collaboration with BAnQ, we are proposing a turnkey project for all the actors in the field of education in Quebec. ------------------------------------ Free online courses on Campus RÉCIT to help in producing quality podcasts:

Info

3 points Write a review of TKAM. Before starting, read a few of the short reviews from this New York Times article titled The 10 Best Books of 2019. Here are a few questions that may help you write your review: How does this book begin? Is the ended expected? Do you like this kind of writing? Why or why not? Would you recommend this book to a friend based on what you've read so far? Your book review should be at least 4 paragraphs long. When you're finished, upload your article to our online classroom, and I'll post it to our blog. If there's an image you'd like to go with it, send it to me or include it in your document.

2 points Draw a scene from the book and give it a title. You may choose to depict a scene with multiple characters or none at all. Add a short explanation of why you chose this scene and/or what it means to you. If you're worried about your art skills... Remember: I'm not looking for the next Monet.

3 points Write a journal entry for any main character other than Scout. You may want to focus your entry around one of the main events in the novel or a reflection in which the character looks at how they've grown or changed during the course of the story.

2 points Listen to this interview of Harper Lee and write a 3-paragraph reflection. What new thoughts came to mind listening to her speak about her own background and experience?

2 points Draw Scout's family tree. Make sure you've included: Atticus, Scout, Jem, Aunt Alexandra, James "Uncle Jimmy" Hancock, John Finch, and Francis Handcock. Be as creative as you'd like. If you make something three dimensional, feel free to send in a video along with a photo. You may even want to get some ideas from Pinterest.

1 point Choose 3 characters other than Jem and Scout and create bubble maps (where their names are in a central circle surrounded by other circles labelled with their traits) where you list 5 personality traits for each one. If characters share a trait, make sure their names are all connected to the same sub-bubble with a line.

1 point Choose two characters from the novel and write a tweet as each one, imagining what they might share on their personal account if they were transported to this decade.

1 point Make a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting Scout and Jem. There should be at least 4 items in each section.

1 point Record a TikTok in which you give a brief (and I mean TikTok brief) speech as one of the novel's characters.

Choose any combination of activities to reach a total of 9 points. Once you've completed the activities, upload them to the class page as a single document or in several parts if necessary.
