Workshop 1
WORKSHOP 1: FORUM THEATER - A SCHOOL FOR ALL! Forum Theater is a form of interactive theater that aims to make theater accessible to all - as a means of dialogue and to change social reality. Objectives
- empowerment of a target group that repeatedly experiences social disadvantages, enabling it to formulate its own interests and goals and to stand up for them with confidence
- adoption of different perspectives, expanding his / her potential for action.
- enabling a deeper understanding of their disadvantaged situation
- offering the protagonist in the scene a chance to achieve his or her goal
- allowing the audience (the classmates) to step in and react to the obstacles in his/her usual way and to find the appropriate way to act in the heat of the moment
WORSHOP 2 - ALL GENDERS ON AN EQUAL FOOTING The workshop was organized by the Project-Initiative “SCHALU Köln, e.V.”, which stands for a society in which young people can be different without fear, believing that all people have the same rights, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. For this workshop they used “SCHLAUE Kiste (SCHLAU box)”, a tool specially developed for their education and anti-discrimination work. It contains pedagogical methods on human rights, discrimination, democracy and social diversity. This workshop consisted of the following elements: An informative part, a methodical part and an anonymous question and answer session with our team members.
WORKSHOP 3: A GUIDE TO ACTION This workshop started with an introduction question "Where can I get support at my school if I have problems?” to be answered and shared in a collaborative document and in national groups. In this way solutions and approaches were soughtwhich can be used in everyday school life.
Boys and Girl's Day : All genders can do anything While girls experimented and built the optimal avalanche lamp with different materials, the boys read to young children from children's books. In the 2nd phase, girls could learn block-based programming with the help of the site www.jwinf.de and the programming language Blocky, while the boys demonstrated their cooking skills in the school kitchen and baked waffles for all guests and exchange students.
Step for equality! Students wrote statements regarding our topic Equality in a collaborative document. Some of these statements were chosen and prepared to be stuck on the steps of the main entrance of the school. The students designed the work of others (by sticking them on) and thus deal with the theses of the others.
How has gender equality evolved in the European Union? In a worshop will be presented ground-breaking stages will be presented, showing the historical achievements of equal treatment and respect for both genders. Students will get assigned achievements, weigh in on them and thus finally evaluate them, partly in a playful way in puzzle work based on the division of labour. In a further vision of the future, possible developments are sought that the young people want for our continent.
What remains is... Students are given the beginning of the sentence “After this week working on our topic equality means for me now…”, inviting them to reflect on a meaningful sentence and create short video clips following the “tic-toe” 30 seconds- model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVJZNcTiOt0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMSs9Km_MeA&feature=youtu.be
