FridaKahlo

Frida Kahlo was born in Coyacan (Mexico) in 1907.

She lived with her family in the famous "Casa Azul".Today it is Frida's Museum.

She practiced soccer and boxing.She had polio and she had to stay in bed for 6 months.

She wanted to be a doctor but she had a terrible accident and she couldn't walk, so she painted from her hospital bed.

She married the artist Diego Rivera. They moved to America and they lived there for 3 years.

She painted family and friends portraits.She was an art teacher and her students were called "Los Fridos".

She is considered as a strong woman who used her art to overcome her circunstances.

Frida was a very important painter and poet who inspired many people.

She died in Mexico in 1954.

"Viva la vida" was her last painting.
