Machtesh Ramon
The town of Mitzpe Ramon sits on the edge of the Ramon Crater in the Negev Desert of Southern Israel. About 3,000 people live in Mitzpe Ramon.
Mitzpe Ramon’s Alpaca farmOne of the Negev’s main family delight, and biggest of its kind in the world, is Mitzpe Ramon’s Alpaca farm, where hundreds of alpacas and llamas roam around freely. Children can feed the alpacas, and join the farm’s many activities on offer. The farm has disability access, and is a sure treat. Machtesh RamonThese are geological formations that can be found in the Negev. Although the word ‘Machtesh’ is translated as ‘crater’ in Hebrew, they weren’t created by the impression of a meteor, but by the effect of geological developments that are unique to the deserts of Israel and Egypt. The craters can be accessed by hikes. Source: https://www.elal.com/magazine/en/portfolio-items/travel/negev/negev-with-kids/
