INTERNATIONAL WEEK 2022

Contact - registration

The International Week has been organised by the International Affairs Department of IMT Mines Albi since 2017. This year, we welcome our partners from November 14-18 around a transversal theme: "Managing across cultures in a world of transitions". Based on our experience, we hope to create fruitful exchanges and give the opportunity to share good practices. Our varied program is focused on both, the richness of the international scene and the variety of our regional heritage.

The workshop "Managing across cultures in a world of transitions" explores how to work efficiently, successfully, and respectfully in a multicultural context. Gaining intercultural competency requires cultural self-awareness and developing the ability to recognise the importance of culture in all areas. Special focus on how our perception and biases can be an obstacle to effective communication and the sometimes sensitive adjustment phase of moving from one culture to another. On completing the staff week, the attendees will have acquired some tools to better address the ongoing transitions in today's world.

The 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup is the event that football enthusiasts all over the world have been waiting for. And to be honest, even if you don't like football, you've heard about it, or at least you will. On the eve of this world-renowned football event, we invited Carole Gomez, research director in the geopolitics of sport at the Institute for International and Strategic Relations (IRIS), a leading research center in France. Beyond the sports aspects, Carole Gomez will highlight in a non-exhaustive way the social [1], environmental [2], and political issues linked to this world event. Carole Gomez works on issues of sports diplomacy, integrity, social inclusion, sports governance reform, and issues related to the feminization of sport. To find out more about her work please visit THIS web page. The conference will be held online.
