Assessment indicators

What do we want to evaluate?

Poor1

Level of achievement for each evaluation indicator

Fair2

Level of achievement for each evaluation indicator

Good3

Level of achievement for each evaluation indicator

Excellent4

Level of achievement for each evaluation indicator

Score

The score is the value achieved for each indicator (from 1 to 4)

Understand ecosystem factors

Can name the abiotic and biotic factors of the ecosystem

Can cite the abiotic factors of the ecosystem, chemical and physical, as well as the relationships and trophic levels of the biotic factor.

Can describe the types of biotic factor relationships (intra- and interspecies), as well as trophic levels (producers, consumers, and decomposers)

Can relate abiotic and biotic factors to the relationships of living organisms; demonstrates a systemic understanding of ecosystems

2

Know the components of ecosystems

Can explain what an ecosystem is

Can distinguish biotope and biocenosis as components

Can describe the characteristics of the biotope, the biocenosis and the relationships between both components

Can relate the characteristics of the biotope and biocenosis with the adaptation that animals and plants develop in ecosystems

4

Recognize the Earth's main ecosystems

Identify factors of imbalance in ecosystems

Aware of the existence of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems

Knows the factors of ecosystem imbalance (unsustainable development, loss of soil and biodiversity)

Can cite the different types of aquatic ecosystems and the biomes of terrestrial ecosystems

Can explain the causes that bring about these factors of imbalance in ecosystems

Can cite the main ecosystems of each of the terrestrial biomes

When faced with the factors of imbalance, it is aware of the strategies that restore the balance of these factors

Can explain the differences and similarities between each of the ecosystems associated with terrestrial biomes and aquatic ecosystems

Speaks with commitment and responsibility for the improvement, conservation and regeneration of the environment

ASSESSMENT RUBRIC

Ecosystems

You have demonstrated that you have a deep knowledge of the characteristics of biotope and biocenosis. You've done very well relating these characteristics to the ways in which animals and plants adapt to their ecosystems. Very good job!

You demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the different types of ecosystems of terrestrial biomes and aquatic ecosystems. You can do something as complex as describing the differences and similarities between the cold zone taiga and temperate zone steppe. I suggest you expand your knowledge; in the unit, there is a breakout that will allow you to travel around the world learning more about all these ecosystems. Ready for take-off?

Although you have shown that you know how to name the factors of ecosystem imbalance (unsustainable development, loss of soil, and biodiversity), I believe that you are also well able to learn about their characteristics and causes, as well as possible strategies to restore the imbalances they cause in ecosystems. This will make you more aware and responsible in the care of the environment. The Earth will thank you for it!

You have a growing understanding of ecosystem factors. In addition, you can identify that there are chemical and physical factors in biotopes, as well as cite the relationships and trophic levels of the biocenosis. Now you can go a little further and be able to understand and explain a little more about each of these factors. In the unit on ecosystems, in the section "What are ecosystems?", you'll find information on this topic. I'm sure you'll enjoy learning about the different types of interspecific relationships of living things - they seem to have a conscience!
