Note: You should only use A&E Departments for emergency treatment for serious illness or injury.
If your GP refers you to hospital for treatment, you will usually be given an appointment to see a consultant (specialist doctor). Depending on the medical problem, you may be treated as an in-patient (where you are admitted to a ward and stay there overnight or longer) or as an out-patient (where you visit the hospital for an appointment). Some (but not all) hospitals have Accident and Emergency departments. These departments are open 24 hours a day. If you need immediate medical assistance (for example, because of an accident), telephone 999.
To register with the on-site GP, please complete their online registration form: https://www.visualproductions.org.uk/holloway/reg.html To find a local GP, please visit: www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-gp and follow their registration process
Only if you live near it. You should register at the surgery closest to your student home. You can search for your nearest GPs on the NHS website. If you have a choice of a few GPs, we recommend you consider their feedback ratings.
