This story begins in England in the year 1090 when the king Richard, The Lionheart, a great and good king, is far away from England to fight on a crusade in the Holy Land.

In the meantime his greedy and ambitius brother, prince John, rules over England with the wicked friend, the Sheriff of Nottingham: "I will soon become the king of England!"

The hero of the story is Robin Hood, a skilled archer who always carries a bow and arrow. He wears green clothes and a hat with a green feather.

He lives in Sherwood forest with a group of criminals, known as his "Merry Men" "When the king Richard comes back, we will defeat prince John!"

The group includes Friar Tuck, Little John and Robin's true love, Maid Marian.

Sherwood forest is a royal hunting forest near Nottingham in England.

Most people think that forests are dangerous places to go-

The story says that Robin Hood takes money from rich people to give it to poor people: "Your money, please, my lord!"

Unfortunately people are forced to pay unjust taxes by the prince John.

The sheriff of Nottingham is Robin's arch enemy. He always tries to catch him but he never succeeds.

Prince John also wants to capture Robin so he organizes competition in Nottingham Castle: "The best archer will win a silver arrow!" He announces.

Robin wins the silver arrow but prince John doesn't recognize him but two of robin's men are arrested-

When they are about to be killed by prince John's soldiers, Robin frees them.

In the meantime king Richard comes back from the crusades to his kindom.

Prince John, the sheriff of Nottingham and all the king's enemies are arrested and peace and justice are restored to his people.
