“How will quantum computing revolutionise the pharmaceutical industry?”
- I first found intrest in this precise topic whilst actually looking for an epq to write wabout i found on a website a list of computational realted topics as i knew i wanted to base ,my dissertion of of computing.
- I believe it will be the key to unlock the next generations world of Computers.
- It is a key topic which has interested me since I want to set my career into this field
- The reason I dive into the scientific drug development side is that i believe will be overall the most positive outcome from the new technology.
- The topics i go into are all able to revolutionise the medical field in one way or another.
Why this topic?
Quantum computers
- Before stating this topic I really didn’t know that much.
- But during the process of researching i had discovered a range of new concepts.
- Two of which being silico trials and organoid developments
- the aabilty to accumalate useful sources
- The ablity to organise sources
What have I learnt?
- clinical trials are the adaptations of simulations to create multiple different scenarios to optimise drug development
- Its a even distribution of events which can be changed dependent on variables
- Through the use of virtual patients the development of repeated clinical simulataed trials allows for the free testing of human biology without needing actual human test subjects.
- removing one of the most infamous parts of drug developing that being the human and animal testing.
Silico Clinical trials
- the process to generating synthetic organs is complicated but one of the greatest achievements of quantum computing
- through trial and error in a simulation this is allowed to occur
- With the assistnce of regenatrative process
- assisting the drug development side of the industry with essentially replica organs.
synthetic organel technology
- The ability of just being able to read the genetic blueprint of an individauls tells amultitude of the health negatives and positives that may occur later in their lives.
- This would be able to prevent or even cure hereditary diesaes such as diabetes and in some cases heraditary mental illness
- THe whole point of the effect of qunanutm computer is that only with a qunatum computer is able to enable the ability to read all these pieces and strands of DNA to store them.
Sequencing and analysing DNA full speed
- one major difficulty is the difficulty in explaining a topic without delving too deep into technical factors.
- another downside is actually time management as I have found it difficult to maintain.
- finding a large range of information specifically related to my topic.
- considering that alot of this topoic in the pharmacutical industries requires some insight on biology (I dont study) this would lead to gaps in my knowledge and slower understanding of certain aspects.
- majority of the topics is much more biolgy/chmistry based rather then computing.
Primary difficulties
- Whilst the difficulties were an issue they wernt impossible to break through
- One of the most important skills I used to actually over come the issues is the ability to nitpick certain aspects and import only the most effective quotes to convay the information
- Eventhough the biology was complicated i found a way arou through multiple videos which are able to essnetially dumb it down or simplify the logic behind how each development is made.
- My intrest in the topic itself was actually one of the key aspects that actually allowed me to complete this.
Overcoming difficulties
- The most positive aspects on researching and writing about this subject is its facinating nature.
- The actual wide range of very specific sub categories prove to be useful as it allows for
- Some negatives are its difficulties in finding a multitude of sources.
- Some aspects are actullay quite difficult to understand as certain topics are not taught is school with me having to be reliant on my own understanding
- The fact that i dont actually study Biology or chemistry is quite the con as it leaves me quite vaulnerable in the way some parts of certain sources i wouldnt be able to understand.
PRos and Cons
- My sources are predominantly online sources with little to none physical examples.
- My sources are informative pieces
- They dont really side to much in one section as they target the new adaprtation rather then the physcological aspects.
- My sources are mainly from google scholor an some other reliable sites
