WELCOME TO OUR
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In this study we are interested in the effects of computer-based learning material.
You can navigate this presentation by clicking on the grey arrow buttons at the bottom/top of the slides. Be careful, once clicked you cannot go back to the previous slide. Sometimes the arrow will appear only after a set amount of time to ensure that you have read the important information provided.
This presentation will include first a legal form for you to fill out and a pre-test to assess your prior knowledge on the given topic (5min), the learning material (8min) and finally a post-test to measure your learning outcomes (5min).
If you have any questions or problems, contact us at ERMII2022study@gmail.com.

Instructions
You will first see an overview of the learning material you will be provided with during this study.
You will have 1 minute to get familiar with it.
After the overview, the learning material is divided in 3 sections. Each section will be visible for 2 minutes. Only after 2 minutes an arrow will appear to navigate you to the next section.
OVERVIEW
You will see this slide for 2 minutes. Please get familiar with it.
In the following three slides you will find more detailed information.

SAURISCHIAN vs ornithischian
SAURISCHIAn
ORnithischian
ERMII2022study@gmail.com
First you have two main families, the Saurischian and the Ornithischians. Both were alive at the same time but had subtle differences in the way their hip bone was shaped. The Saurischians are also called the lizard-hip dinos while the Ornithischians are called the bird-hip dinos.
The main difference lies in the direction of the pubis bone, for Saurischians this bone points forwards (helping to support their weight) and for Ornithischian it points backwards (allowing more space to support an herbivorous diet).
Hover over the names of the dinosaurs to see what they looked like.

SAURISCHIAN
SAUROPODS
THEROPODS
ERMII2022study@gmail.com
The two subcategories of Saurischians are the sauropods – also called long neck dinos and theropods.
The tyrannosaurus and modern birds belong to the family of theropods and share the following similar traits. They are bipedal (use two legs to walk), have air sacs on their body (which make them lighter) and they have had feathers on them at some point in time.

ORNITHISCHIAN
Pachycephalosauria were bipedal and had big skulls, although the brain inside was small. This implied that these dinosaurs potentially fought and interacted with each other through head bumps.
ankylosauria
pachycephalo
sauria
stegosauria
ceratopsian
Hadrosaurs
Ceratopsian walked on four legs and had short tails, but their most distinct features were the large plates and/or horns connected to their skull. The beloved triceratops belongs to this family.
Hadrosaurs were usually bipedal most of the time, but their front legs were shaped in such a way that they could not only grab but also walk on them.
Stegosauria had a relatively small head compared to the rest of their body and used all four legs to walk. These dinosaurs had osteoderms (plate- and spike-bones below the skin) along their spine.
Like the Stegosauria the Ankylosauria had osteoderms on their body. In their case however, their whole body was covered in them. Their bodies were usually quite flat and round.
