The Celts believed in over 300 gods and goddesses. Druids were the Celtic priests. They could tell the future by studying nature.

Celts is a general name for the tribes (groups) in Britain. Each tribe had their own king or queen. And there was a lot of fighting between tribes.

Julius Caesar
The Roman General Julius Caesar swam across the sea to Britain. He wanted to make Britain a part of the Roman empire. The Celts fought back bravely and the Romans returned to Rome with nothing.

Nearly one hundred years later, the Romans returned. Now it was Emperor Claudius. Many Celtic tribes realised how strong this Roman army was. Many fought back... Boudicca fought against Romans. She burnt Londinium and Camulodum (Colchester) But in the final battle she was defeated
