Who created Starlink?

Elon Musk was born on June 28, 1971 and raised in South Africa.

Musk spent time in Canada before finally moving to the U.S.

Educated at the University of Pennsylvania in physics, Musk started getting his feet wet as a serial tech entrepreneur

He created a lot of different companies (Tesla/Space X/Starlink)

Elon Musk is now the charismatic co-founder and CEO of electric car maker Tesla and rocket manufacturer SpaceX.


What is Starlink, how does it work and what does it provide?

Starlink is a network of satellites that

provide internet

Space X's first Starlink mission was launched on May 24, 2019
(it carried 60 satellites)

Now, over 800 Starlink satellites are operating at 550km above the Earth's surface in low Earth orbit

Each Starlink satellite is compactly designed and weighs about 260kg

An Internet signal sent from the Earth is received by one of the Starlink satellites



What is Starlink, how does it work and what does it provide?

It then communicates with other satellites in the network
using laser light

Once the signal reaches the most ideally located satellite,
it is relayed to a ground receiver





It transfers a huge amount of data in a short amount of time
because they are much closer to the ground receivers







Starlink aims to deliever high speed, low latency internet, including in remote areas where connectivity is limited or completely unavailable







Elon Musk says "Starlink satellite service is activated in Ukraine, where the Russian invasion has caused internet disruptions"

Starlink has helped back up essential services and come to the aid of citizens struggling with partial outages.


Starlink heps Ukraine to support drone strikes and other attacks.

How does Starlink help Ukraine?

Across Ukraine, Starlink terminals donated by Musk have been set up on hospitals, energy companies, and other critical infrastructure.


In the western part of the country, where the population has doubled in recent weeks as people fled from the Russian advance, Starlink has helped take pressure off the overloaded internet infrastructure.

How does Starlink help Ukraine?

Starlink aims to deliever high speed, low latency internet, including in remote areas where connectivity is limited or completely unavailable.


Because of this Starlink has been really helpfull in those recent years and more particularly in Ukraine.
And it's only the beginning.
