-> 1954 to 1960 corresponds to the black struggle during those years

-> 1960 to 1964 corresponds to the protest movements of the early ‘60s when the civil rights struggle became a mass movement.

II. THE FREEDOM RIDERS


-> The famous group of 13 activists from the freedom riders movement

-> Known for their pacifist acts

-> unfortunately savagely beaten , harrassed and arrested
