He was a political activist and is most well known for his work as a leader during the civil rights movement in America.
X is not his name but a nickname he gives himself

- Malcolm wanted to fight for the rights of black people because of the racist abuse he and his family had suffered.
- He was an actor in the "black power" and his assassination marked the beginning of the "Black panther party" movement.

The therm Black Power was creates in 1966 by SNCC's Stokely Carmichael (an afro-américan militant).
The Black Power became world famous at the 1968 Summer Olympics games.

The Black Panther Party (BPP), originally the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, was a political organization founded by college students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in October 1966 in Oakland, California.
It was create after the Selma march.

The Party instituted the Free Breakfast for Children Programs to address food injustice, and community health clinics for education and treatment of diseases including :
- sickle cell anemia,
- tuberculosis
- HIV/AIDS
