His death and legacy

Life and death : 287 B.C. - 212 B.C.

- He died in 212 B.C. during the siege of Syracuse by the Roman Republic (his killer was a soldier called Marcellus).

- His works survived through all the Middle-Ages and got used again by scientists during the Renaissance (16th)
- Discovery of 1906 : Archimedes's Palimpsest
- Some of his theorems are still used nowadays
