Spanish Cultural Landmarks explored and discovered by our students
We also have explored and discovered the Tower of Gold of Seville using the STEAM approach. We have researched its history and architectural style, we have made several drawings and measurements to design and elaborate its model with the greatest accuracy using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. And finally, we have used Robotics to turn our model into an articulated model.
We have used manipulative material such as yogurt cups to learn fractions and to know how to divide our cultural landmarks into different parts.
We have worked on symmetry and translation to learn the monuments of the cultural heritage that surrounds us.
We have worked on the division puzzles through the digital live worksheets to discover the most outstanding cultural landmarks of our country and of the partner countries.
We also have explored and have discovered the Cultural Landmarks of our town.
Finally, we have made a Kahoot to play and learn more about the cultural heritage of our countries.
We also exchange our reports and discuss cultural heritage with our partners in our Twinspace forums.

PROCESSION OF THE MYSTERIES OF TARANTO (from Holy Thursday to Holy Saturday) Saint Domenico is one of the most famous churches in Taranto: a living building, rich in history and emotions. At midnight on Holy Thursday, Our Lady of Sorrows leaves the Church of San Domenico (build in 1306) and is carried in a 14-hour procession to the church of San Francesco da Paola. From there, she goes to the church of Carmine, where she finds her dead Son. On Fridays, the procession starts from the Church of Carmine to the Church of San Francesco da Paola. The statues represent the sacred sorrowful mysteries. The processions are attended by the 'Perdoni' [Look at the "PERDONI" ] , men dressed in hats, hoods and tunics, with a black or white cape. In recent years there have been twinnings with Andalusia, Spain, because we share the same devotion.
