ISTE Teacher Education Network Award

ISTE TEN sponsored a country wide video contest where teachers shared how they innovate with technology to teach their students. We won 2nd place. See our entry here.

PBS Teachers Innovation Award

Tricia was one of 10 teachers chosen nation-wide in their first annual PBS Teachers Innovation Awards. She was flown to Austin to attend the PBS Conference and had her students' work highlighted before hundreds of PBS creators.

Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction 2012

Tricia was awarded this honor through the Golden Apple Foundation after nominations, interviews, and site visits to her classroom.

Western Region Art Teacher of the Year

Tricia was awarded this honor through the National Art Education Association. The nomination was reviewed against teachers in a number of states. She was awarded at the 2013 NAEA conference. See the Chicago Tribune article here.

Jacobs Educator Award Winner, 2014

Tricia was awarded this honor largely based on her work to amplify her students voices through problem-based learning in the creation of Fugleflicks. See her video here and the post to explain all the PBL in her art room.

Art Education Technology Award for Outstanding Community Service

Tricia was awarded this honor following a year of coping with a family emergency by pouring energy into developing lessons for art educators. The award was accepted at the NAEA conference. Learn more in my blog post.

Illinois Art Teacher of the Year 2011

Tricia was awarded the highest award for teachers through the Illinois Art Education Association.

Artsonia Leadership Award

15 art teachers from around the country were nominated by peers and awarded the Artsonia Leadership Award for creative and innovative art galleries on Artsonia. Read more here.
