What are conditional clauses

Conditional clauses - the if clauses - Always consist of two parts:
a condition, which is described in the subordinate clause, and a main clause, in which the consequence is stated. There are 3 forms of conditional clauses the first, second and third form. For example: If I save some money, I can buy a new laptop = the first form.

Third conditional

This can be used to describe an unfulfilled condition in the past. The special thing about if-clauses type 3 is that the condition in the subordinate clause can no longer be fulfilled because it is already too late.
