Definition

Globalisation is a process, where the worldwide connections regarding many areas, such as economy, politics and culture, increase and the process by which businesses or other organisations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale.

  • the environment is destroyed (climate change)
  • infectious diseases are more likely to spread over several continents (Corona)

Contra Globalisation

  • plays a huge role in destruction of environment, especially climate change)
  • there are so many losers due to globalisation
  • inequalities have to be reduced
  • it is understandable to want to protect your own country from foreign competition
  • growing dependence from other countries
  • increase of homogenisation

Pro Globalisation

  • consumerism, not globalisation, is to blame for the destruction of environment
  • there are organisations which try to protect the rights of workers in developing countries
  • we should not create new trade barriers
  • global trade is good for the economy of the country

  • characterised by protectionist measures
    • customs duties
    • variable export / import levy

  • increase of negative effects
  • more and more automatism
  • securing the own basic state supply
