We received a letter from Mariquita Juanita telling us that she was still on holidays and asking us if we could look at the garden. As a group, we discussed the differents aspects on which we should focus our attention. Then, in smaller groups, we went out to the garden with our registration sheets.

STEAM-CT
We received a letter from Mariquita Juanita asking us for help locating the fruit trees in the garden, because after her summer holidays she had forgotten about them.We had to solve some challenges to get the secret code that would give us the clues to identify the trees and complete the map.
WHAT ARE THE PLANTS LIKE?

THELITTLETULIP
We saw Story of flowers and together we made up a story motivated by the images we had seen. Then we read The Little Tulip and discussed the temporal sequence of the flower growing.
STORY OFFLOWERS
STEAM-CT
- We divided the class into 3 groups and each group selected a secretary and a spokesperson.
- Each group had a Qr code reader and qr-code cards.
- The reading of each code resulted in an image. The secretary had to write down the letter with which the image begun.
- When they had all the letters, they had to put them in order to build a word (one group formed the word water, another group earth and the last group light).
- We had a general meeting between all the groups. The spokespeople shared the word that their team had discovered. We reflected on the 3 requirements.

Making our indagation with the hotbeds
STEAM-CT
We thought and talked about possible materials and their characteristics. We checked which ones are biodegradable.
We used biodegradable hotbeds
We reused and decorated old pots
We could not make the seedbeds. It's on the to-do list for the next course.

We did it!!
measure the garden
Why do we not get the same results if we measured with pencils, scissors, glue, polycubes...?
4 We still have problems!!
Children begin to say that their parents have rulers and meters to measure different things.
5 How can we solve that problem?
6 shall we try to measure with them?
We decided to measure the land with our feet.
1 we went out to the garden
Our measurements do not match...our feet are different sizes!
2 We have a problem!
We decided to measure with other objects.
3 We return to the classroom to think what we can do...
STEAM-CT
We went into the garden and looked for different smells. We reflected about the differences between aromatic plants and non-aromatic plants.
We listened to the different sounds of nature with our eyes closed. We tried to guess what they were and take turns repeating the honomatopoeias."What do they make you feel?
deep in the garden
STEAM-CT
We saw pictures of different gardens. We also looked at paintings by some artists. We reflected and discussed the different aspects of the gardens and the different elements.

designing our garden
In other school years, we picked the lettuce in June and ate it in the school canteen.Occasionally we have been able to pick some tomatoes and peppers. The rest we picked in the summer camp.

Earth Day is celebrated on the 22nd of April. We want to take the opportunity to transplant the flowers from our seedbeds to the garden and also the vegetables to the orchard.
Improving our garden
presenting our garden
I like to relate all the contents that we work on and sometimes it is complicated due to lack of time.Having a class pet or character helps a lot in this aspect, it gives it meaning and guides and accompanies us in the process.
I need more time!!
difficulties
Being a future project, there are activities that can be modified from one course to another, depending on the time available, the characteristics of the group...
