2. Greetings are important in France. Thus, it is necessary to greet others correctly to make a good impression. Handshakes are the norm in a business setting or with acquaintances. It is expected that you will shake hands with everyone present when arriving and leaving. Among friends and relatives, the most common greeting is the ‘la bise’ (kiss on both cheeks).
3. Restaurant hours. One of the things that most surprises tourists in France are the famous "cut", that is, the restaurant hours that are not usually in a continuous way (except those that are near the most touristic places). They generally open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. and reopen from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. For this reason, you want to visit a particular restaurant, check the location and hours on their website.
5. Petanque. A deep-rooted custom among the French is the game of petanque, there are even national petanque competitions. Two teams of 1, 2, or 3 players are formed, where each one strives to place their (metal) balls as close as possible to the goal (small wooden ball), throwing them from a circle drawn on the ground and the feet of the player remains there during the game.
4. Raclette. It is the equivalent of a barbecue between friends. The name is due to the type of special cheese that is used for it. The cultural importance of raclette has become a true pillar of French culture but so little known outside of France, it is enjoyed during the winter months.
Paris, the capital of France, is a major European city and a world center for art, fashion, food and culture.

Tradition
1. In France, they celebrate "Victory in Europe Day" on May 8, thus commemorating the end of World War II.
2. French cuisine, food, and wine are very common in their tradition, they are fundamental in all meetings since there is a lot of socializing at the table and dinners tend to be prolonged. One of the most classic French dishes is boeuf bourguignon, a braised stew of beef, red wine, garlic, onion, and mushrooms.
3. La Galette des Rois begins on January 6, the day of the Epiphany, the day the Magi visited Jesus in the stable. Therefore, it is the traditional January dessert, and as you have correctly deduced, it is the equivalent of the king's cake that is made in Spain and Latin America.
4. April 1. In France there is an old tradition: on this day jokes, laughter and pranks are made. The children make little paper fish and try to hang them on the backs of their comrades without them noticing. Then the children yell "April Fools!" When people finally discover the fish behind their backs.
5. Christmas markets in France. For several centuries, these markets took place only in the northeastern regions. It was not until the 1990s that they spread throughout France. From north to south, west to east, major cities now compete in entertainment, decorations, and chalets to offer visitors worthy Christmas markets to immerse them in the magic of year-end celebrations.
