Manchmal ... viele Male ... immer

I Remember
It was a rainy and cold winter afternoon. Everything was in silence. The streets were empty, everyone was at home watching the match. The wind was the music of the landscape.
Then, the doorbell rang. I put down the book that I was reading, a Sherlock novel, and I ran to open the door.
There was a couple of policewomen, they were looking at me. They asked me my name and surname. I told them my name, I was scared. They told me that he was dead. His car crashed against a tree.
The world ended for me, since then I've lived remembering it.

I Remember Them
-->
I remember the color of the blue and your smile while you looked at the sea,
I remember how you touched my hair.
I remember your walks in the morning and your elegance when walking.
I remember that we played like two children.
I remember you energy and how you taught me to be strong,
I remember how you took care of me when I needed it most.
I remember how I learned from you,
I remember that you changed the coldest place into a warm one.
I remember that sometimes it’s sad to remember because
I remember that you aren’t here with us.

Souvenirs

Mia madre canticchiava.

“Du! Was ist los? Du bist mit einem dummen Lächeln aufgestanden.”
“Na ja! Nichts Schlimmes – nur eine Erinnerung.”

Remember...
I remember when I was young,
I remember I was stronger,
Being happy was my priority,
The future wasn’t my responsibility,
I was thinking about smiling,
I didn’t care if I was skinny or fat,
Every day with my parents laughing,
I didn’t need money to pay for a flat.
Ivan Ferrer - A2
I remember when I was young,
I wasn’t afraid of what they’d say,
And if a girl maybe did me wrong.
I didn't care, I was okay.
I remember my ability,
Of missing my mum in any activity.
Because my first love was my mum,
And my last love will be my son.

I Remember
I remember when I was a little girl,
sometimes you told me fairy tales,
and you sat next to me,
until sleep was coming in again.
I remember moments of glory,
and music everywhere,
when we sang songs in the car,
and you drove us far away.
I remember a lot of memories,
when you were swimming with us at the beach,
we were surfing the waves,
and we were jumping and diving into the deep.
Xiomara Lozano - A.2
I remember good stories,
about you and your friends,
when you were a little boy,
and your games weren't safe.
I remember all those things
when I remember you
in my dreams.

My Little Universe
I remember when the stars were shining in the dark sky
I could feel my heart beating faster
Everything around me was quiet. I waited.
As if I was an astronomer
As I sat under the moon
I put my fingers in the six longs strings
And the notes began to fly,
Like a beautiful bird with wings
Then I heard exploding stars
I got up from my chair and looked down
And I saw my old best friend in my arms
Like a princess raises a fair crown.
But even if I can't dream with cosmos
I’ll still remember my lovely guitar.

School Memories
I remember... emotion, dream, smell of paint, eraser shavings, potato stamps, chickpeas growing in cups filled with wet cotton, sand in shoes, racing to the slide, dull pencils, laughter, anger …The "I'm not your friend anymore" ,but after 5 minutes she was your best friend again... faces full of snot…But above all I remember the hand of the one who took me to the place where all that happened, who entertained that way with stories that he invented for me and that patiently listened to mine when he picked me up after school.
Grandfather…
Memories... precious memories.

I Remember
Many years ago, when I was a child, I learnt to swim with my brothers in a curious way.
The way we learnt to swim was very simple: in a river near a village where we went on holiday, my father threw us (my brothers and me) into the river. When my brother Carlos (the youngest) was in the water, my father, jumped into the river and pulled out us one by one. While my father threw my brothers into the river, I tried to stay afloat and not drown.
My brothers and I enjoyed it a lot, but my mother didn't agree with “the teacher's” technique...

I Remember...
I remember the doctor’s words while I can’t avoid wetting the sheets with my tears… I’m writing this letter to tell you that in the coming months I won’t be the person that you know.
He says that first I won’t be able to remember your smell, months later I won’t be able to remember your name and in the end I won’t be able to remember your face.
My mind’s turning off and, with it, my life. I’m scared, honey.
I’m so sorry dear, I promised you one day under the moonlight that only death would separate us, but it won’t be like that. Oblivion will.
Please don’t let go of my hand on my trip to oblivion.

I remember the day when I was born. Legend says that it had been a huge fight. I remember the wind going through my growing petals. It was such a nice thrill to feel life itself! I remember the crowd, as well, shocked about what was happening. But the best I remember is his gentlemanly hands when he picked me and her warmth welcome when she accepted me as a gift.
It is said that energy doesn’t get lost, only transformed. That’s why I always feel so much energy inside me:
I was born from the dragon.

A Continuous Dream
-->
I remember when I was a kid my life was a continuous dream. From when I woke up until I went to sleep, I dreamed of having a different life.
I dreamed of living in another house, having siblings, and many things that other children had.
When I was a teenager, I started to get some of these wishes.
For a few years, I keep working to get more of them, althought I had to start over several times.
Today I can say that I’m still dreaming, my life is a continuous dream because I think that trying to fulfill our dreams is to wake up feeling hopeful every single day.

Train Memories
I will never forget the day I saw him. He was carrying two large bags and that stood out. Then, someone called him. Maybe his wife, I thought. I couldn't avoid smiling as he was fighting with all his stuff trying to answer the call. I was sad but he was able to make me feel happy for a moment. That was probably the exact moment I fell in love with him.
Now, I'm sitting in the same seat remembering the way he looked, his smell, his face when he stared through the window. But I can't remember his name because I never dared to ask him.

I Remember...
I remember the smell of wet grass that I loved
I remember the caress that my grandmother used to give me until I fell asleep.
I remember the songs on my first cassette
and how they made me feel.
I remember when I saw him for the first time and my heart was set on fire.
I remember the sound of my baby smile and how happy it made me feel.
Our life through the senses, year after year, beautiful, sweet, unexpected…
Ready to live
and to continue to remember.

I remember clouds covering the beating down sunrays on summer days.
I could observe the trees swaying at the same time the wind was whispering words of anger. The rain started to beat against the roof top while I was sitting on the stone stairs of my home. Suddenly, I was surprised by the shaking of the mountains surrounding me, by every shriek coming from the dark sky.
I won't forget the pleasure to smell wet earth and my attention to hearing nature trying to rise up, to survive against climate change.

Je me souviens encore de ton corps
Je me souviens de ces nuits
sans lune ni étoiles d'argent;
doucement mon corps.

Ti ricordo...

Hiding from children my age,

…buying sweets in the shop in a dead-end street
and sharing them with my close friends.
Not buying bandages and pills
to cure the wounds of the casualties.
…in my room enjoying series on TV
with friends around me.
Now, watching some news with desire
waiting for a ceasefire.
…living with my family in peace.
Yet, nowadays some of them are refugees.

"I remember myself stepping on that grass… Do I remember it? I’m not sure, it doesn’t matter I’ll do it later", he said.
In the picture there were two kites in the air held by two children. He didn't recognize them. Although their faces couldn't be seen, he knew they were laughing.
He looked at a tree, "I remember myself sleeping in that shade... Do I remember it? It doesn’t matter, I'll remember it later."
"It's shower time, grandpa," said a voice. "'The picture is beautiful, isn't it? My grandmother told me you painted my uncles playing, that’s why they brought it, so you can look at it to rekindle your memories.
Take one last look, we'll be back tomorrow."
He didn't answer, he kept looking at the picture.
"The grass is so fresh," he thought, "I remember myself stepping on that grass... Do I remember it? I’m not sure, it doesn’t matter, I’ll do it later."

Je me souviens

Once Upon a Time...
When the library closed, they made a pilgrimage to say their last goodbye to the narrator, whose last words were "colorín colorado".
I don’t remember if Cinderella cried disconsolately; or if the Tin Soldier smoked one cigarette after another, unable to appease his anguish; or if it was the Three Little Pigs who said the old man had died of boredom after telling the same stories over and over.
But I remember that the only one who didn't seem to mind his death was the Bad Wolf. He watched Little Red Riding Hood absolutely convinced that, next time, nobody'd mention the damned woodcutter again.

The Little Rays of Sun
I remember the lazy mornings of summer, improvised plans, and the eternal smell of saltwater. The sun was our soulmate, but the moon was our best friend. I also remember the long car rides with the music blaring and singing like there was no tomorrow. And I cannot forget the nights lying by the river making wishes upon shooting stars that never came true. Now, I’m looking at those summer photos, and know they are nothing more than memories that will only remain in my mind.
