--> new type of painting / litterature
--> architecture dedicated to the God
--> new taste for terror / weirdness
--> end of the 18th and in the 19th century
--> during Industrial Revolution
--> rich people = weathier
--> living conditions = appalling for the poorest ones
--> cities = attractive
--> a lot of disease

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER by Edgar Allan Poe

--> Main characters : we don't know his identity / childhood friend of Roderick USHER

--> Settings : narrator receives a letter from USHER who seems sick / USHER tells him that he would like the narrator to come to his house

--> Rising action : USHER reveals his twin sisters is dying and she soon passes away. Her corpses is laid to rest temporaritly in a vault under the house

Johnny Blaze is a humonster.
Why? In order to save his family members, he decided to sell his soul to Mephisto. Since then, he shares his body with a demon who turns into a flaming skeleton at night

I found this article interesting especially as it talks about "what makes a monster?". Even if you agree or disagree with his words, I found it interesting to the way he treats the subject of humans and monsters.
