THE TASK

Step by step!

- The first step is to find the two people you will go on holiday with.

- Your group is set? Yes! Now you have to discuss and learn to know each other better... what are your hobbies, your favourite food, what you wish to see in Scotland... Teamwork makes the dream work!

- Then we will explore ALL the aspects of your trip, from how to get there to where you will sleep, what you will do there, and very importantly how much it will cost.
Don't worry though, there will be grids along the way to help you organise and remind you of what you have to do.

- Speaking of money... for this dream trip you will be given a maximum budget of £2000 per person. Don't go over that line, you don't want to make your banker mad... or worse, your parents!

- At the end of your planning, just before you go, you will present your trip to me and the class, so that we can all be jealous of the awesome vacation you'll get to have. Don't forget to make a powerpoint presentation.

STEP 1: GET TO KNOW YOUR GROUP

Before visiting any website, you need to get to know your friends.

Chat with them and find out basic informations about them and the kind of holidays they like.
Be ready to briefly introduce your group to the class.
The grids you'll need to fill can be found at the bottom of this page !

→ THE GRIDS

STEP 2: WHAT DOCUMENTS DO YOU NEED TO TRAVEL

Click on each section to get to the page

With its rich history, and beautiful architecture, Edinburgh is a city that you won't forget. There's lots to fill your time, from unforgettable historic sites and world-class festivals to fantastic shopping and mouth-watering dining.

EDINBURGH

Glasgow is one of the best shopping destinations in the UK. With a diverse culinary scene, abundance of pubs and bars as well as some of the country's best music venues, this is the perfect city for all the night owls.

STEP 3.2: WHERE WILL YOU GO?

THE LOWLANDS

+ INFO

Welcoming people, dramatic landscapes, romantic castles and a fascinating history, this is the perfect background for your Scottish adventure. The Highlands are also the home of the famous Loch Ness and its monster..!

THE HIGHLANDS

+ INFO

The southern part of the nation, with all its greenery, there you can connect with nature and the Scots. Sit in a pub and learn about Scotland's rich history while enjoying a good beer... shhh don't tell anyone!

STEP 4: ACCOMODATION

Find a place to rest to be able to make the most of your Scottish vacation!

You have an important choice to make regarding accomodation.

Will you choose a life of luxury in hotels, will you decide to be thrifty and sleep in youth hostels, or maybe you will want to be as close to nature as possible and settle for a tent in the wilderness.

The possibilities are (almost) endless, but your budget is not.

STEP 5: PLAN YOUR DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES

STEP 6 : WHAT YOU DID NOT THINK ABOUT..!

How will you move around in Scotland?

...and how much will it cost?

What will you eat?
...and how much will it cost?

You will have to visit three places during your trip, so you must plan ahead:

How will you get from the airport to your first destination?

How will you get from your first to your second destination; from your second to your third; and finally from your third destination back to the airport?

Think about it, plan ahead! Don't be stuck on the side of the road... that would suck.

Okay, you planned out all of your activities, you know what you're going to do every minute of every hour of every day. But you probably missed out on something extremely important... FOOD

What will you eat between those activities?
Some hotels offer breakfast, or even full pension, but some don't. You have got to have a budget for food.
If you want some informations, you can go to the websites of some shops like tesco to see the cost of sandwiches.

Don't die of starvation... please!
