Lost in the stars!

Instructions

A team of ESA astronauts on an important mission have had a crack in their spacecraft and need your help to get back to . You, as part of the ESA-managed eTwinglinkstar project, must solve a series of challenges to save both the mission and the crew. In the classroom you will find some cards that will help you to. Take , and open your and your . Help will come from lots of places .... Search and click on the Big Dipper constellation and start your trip.... Good luck... !

Do you need help? I have a clue for you. Take the you will find in this room. By reading them, you'll obtain the code combination to open the .

Read the infographies about planets and get a combination of four numbers: Number of MOONS for these planets in the following order: THE EARTH, MARS, VENUS AND MERCURY.

To open this door and enter in the spaceship you have to find a number. Near the door you will find someone to help you Good luck...!

Chemistry Room

I'm an astrochemist. I intensely study the periodic table. I don't only observe , I examine and analyze them. I study the chemical composition that exits in outer space. Lots of them also exist on but others only exist in space. I establish what substances are in space and in which quantities, by detecting infrared, ultraviolet, gamma and red waves. So Chemistry is related to Astronomy. I propose you to find interesting information in the periodic table. There are some chemical elements that have their name derived from celestial bodies. Find in the periodic table one element that has its name derived from our and another element whose name is the largest satellite of Saturn. Combining these numbers in ascending order you will obtain the next code to continue your adventure.

How many planets and other bodies ....can you find in the periodic table?

The name Uranus is as the planet. It was discovered by Herschel in 1781 from pitchblende. Later found to be an oxide of that metal.

Helium was discovered in the Sun before The Earth. It takes the Greek name of this star - Helios. Stars like the Sun produce helium by fusing two hydrogen nuclei and releasing large amounts of energy.

Tellurium. Its name is derived from tellus that in Latin mean Earth. It is an element of low toxicity but with unpleasant side effects as it produces terrible bad breath and body odor.

Mercury takes its name from the planet. The chemical symbol that represents it is Hg. It comes from the Latin hydrargyrum that means liquid silver.

Neptunium, discovered by Mc Millan in 1940, owes its name to the fact that it follows uranium in the periodic table, thus reflecting the order of the planets in the solar system.

Selenium was discovered by Berzelius. It was given the Greek name of our moon, Selene.

The titans of Greek mythology gave their name to titanium, which we can also relate to the largest of Saturn's satellites, Titan.

Hi again! Have you found all the elements proposes to continue? Click in the first element formed in the Universe to continue...

Plutonium owes its name to the fact that it follows neptunium in the periodic table, thus reflecting the order of the planets in the solar system.

Cerium, first identified by the chemist Berzelius and the geologist Hinsinger, was discovered independently and simultaneously by Klaproth, who assigned it the name of a newly discovered asteroid, Ceres. Today it is a dwarf planet.

Palladium owes its name to the asteroid Pallas, discovered in March 1802. It is used in automobile catalytic converters.

Relax and Mindfulness time...

When I was a child my mother told me about my grandfather. I didn't have the opportunity to meet him so I was asking about him all time. My mother told me that he was in the sky so I spent lots of nights gazing at the stars trying to find him, but no answers came. Nowdays, I think my mother was right because we are star dust. We are formed by tiny particles called atoms that were formed in the stars thousands years ago. Click on the moon and go to explore the universe to find out answers about it...

Mercury

What is its position?

The closet panet to the Sun

The third planet

The farthest planet from the Sun

I'm waiting for a new sunrise

Venus

What substance rains in this planet?

Water

Carbon dioxide

Sulphuric Acid

Is it hot?

Try it again!

Mars

Which element is responsable for the red colour on this planet?

Iron (Fe)

Copper (Cu)

Chrome (Cr)

Try again!

Saturn

How many rings does Saturn have?

Ten

Thirteen

Seven

Which element was formed in the first place in the Universe?

Helium (He)

Iron (Fe)

Hydrogen (H)

In a black hole...

Only light can escape from it

Nothing can scape from it

There isn't gravitational force

Try again!

Proxima Centauri is the second star close to us. How long does the light take to reach the Earth?

8 minutes

4 years

25 thousands years

This is the time light takes to come from our star: the Sun

Try again!

This is the time light takes to come from the closest galaxy to ours: Andromeda.

Maths Room

Look in the room for a list of coordinates. Draw the constellation! The name of the constellation hides the key to moving forward!

The brightest star in the constellation is Regulus.

You must enter the name of one of the constellations to proceed. Look around the room to choose the right constellation.

In Greek mythology, the Nemean Lion was killed by Heracles (Hercules to the Romans) during the first of his twelve labours. It's a spring constellation.

Physics Room

HELLO

R

I wonder do you know which planet has the same gravity as Venus?Think about that and then to that planet. You are almost done

Now you will need to do some calculations Calculate your weight on the planet Neptune. Then calculate the summary weight of all of your 5 star member crew!Tell the result to your and if it is correct she will tell you the number!

Hello and welcome to my Galaxy! My name is R102 and I will help you to rescue the space station but first you must leave the Physics room. Answer the three questions in this room. If they are right, you will find the way out Oh, there's some help for you but ... I don't remember where. Good luck!

Welcome to the end...

You are late! Ask your teacher for your ! She took an there was inside this !
