The network of Earth observation satellites is a key piece to address climate change and to implement the strategies agreed at the Paris Climate Summit. The satellite is a unique tool for observing the planet. In remote areas such as the Arctic, they can provide data not only on ice extent, but also on thickness, which is an element of assessment and forecasting of the evolution of the ice system in the Arctic and Antarctic zone.
