Let's hear from Organisations working on Degrowth

Breaktime!

Try to take a break from the screen to renergise.....Stretch out and take a few deep breaths before getting up to grab a cuppa, etc.

Let's hear from Organisations working on Degrowth-Round 2

St Oliver's CC: Rachel is like an honorary member of the WWGS team who will give a great example of how she integrates GCE and the concept of degrowth into her business classroom.

Rachel McEntee

Ciara McMackin

Kishoge Community College: Another honorary member of the WWGS team, Ciara wrote the Ethical Education curriculum for senior cycle for Educate Together schools that has strong elements of degrowth in it. Ciara has a great turn of phrase for degrowth using flourishing showing her positive approach to GCE in her school.

St Louis Dundalk: Joanne has much experience and enthusiasm working in Global Citizenship Education and will lead the conversation in her room today! Her school recently won the Science for Development Award looking at a more sustainable way to refridgerate.

We need to talk about 'Degrowth'-over to you-time to talk together

Maryfield College: Sorcha has much experience of working in Global Citizenship Education and will lead the conversation in her room today!

Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew has focused on increasing Teacher Capacity, establishing cross-curricular links and strengthening their whole school approach to GCE. Teachers have linked with a number of organisations and have carried out self-development/research in degrowth (eg: circular economy + ethical sustainable consumption).

Stranorlar College, Donegal has implemented an awareness campaign called ‘#use less to live more’ in their school community, which they plan to promote in schools nationwide in the coming weeks. This Fast Fashion campaign is just one of a number of initiatives carried out by their school to educate people on a best practice approach to accomplishing ethical consumption on a local and global scale in the future.

St Mary's Charleville will be providing an overview of how they critically engage with GCE, which includes cross-curricular links, and TY modules. Using themes Responsible Consumption and Gender as examples of their work, Marion and David will help start a conversation on how we can make connections to Degrowth.
