Esta infografía ha sido realizada por FutboLISTAS y tiene fines educativos y divulgativos. Mujeres inspiradoras es un recurso infográfico mediante el que se pretende acercar breves biografías de mujeres célebres a niñas y niños. Para ello, las protagonistas están organizadas en temáticas diferentes: ciencias, deportes, social y letras y arte. Así es más sencillo saber en qué campo ha destacado cada una. Además, las biografías están disponibles en castellano y en inglés, en línea con la visión bilingüe de FutboLISTAS.

En esta herramienta infográfica, junto a cada biografía se propone una actividad. En concreto, están pensadas especialmente para menores en edad escolar, con el fin de trabajar valores vinculados a las mujeres de las que se habla.

FutboLISTAS es un proyecto cuyo objetivo es empoderar a niñas de entre 5 y 12 años mediante el fútbol. Los entrenamientos son bilingües y se centran en los valores de vida que transmite el deporte. Además, se organizan charlas mensuales de mentoras locales en Sevilla, con las que se anima a las chicas a pensar en sus futuros profesionales.

Cuando tenía 6 años, Frida comenzó a practicar deportes como el boxeo y el fútbol para ayudar a recuperarse de la poliomielitis. Luego, ella fue una de las pocas chicas a las que se les permitió ingresar en la Escuela Nacional Preparatoria de México.Comenzó a pintar a los 18 años, tras un accidente de tráfico. A menudo, pintaba la vida cotidiana de las mujeres. Sus pinturas tenían muchos colores y estaban influenciadas por la cultura mexicana.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When Frida was 6 years old, she started practising sports like boxing and soccer to help recover from poliomielitis. Nellie Bly fue la primera periodista de investigación (alguien que investiga un problema y escribe sobre ello) de Estados Unidos. Nellie fue encubierta para exponer el maltrato de mujeres en un hospital.Su artículo se hizo muy famoso y provocó que se hicieran muchas reformas hospitalarias. Por otro lado, Nellie rompió el récord mundial viajando alrededor del mundo en 72 días.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nellie Bly was the first investigative journalist (someone who investigates a problem and writes about it) in USA. She went undercover to expose mistreatment of women at a hospital.Her article became very famous and caused many hospital reforms to be made. On the other hand, Nellie broke the world record by traveling around the world in 72 days.

Nellie Bly traveled around the world to investigate things she found interesting and she always wrote under a pen name (her true name was Elizabeth Cochran Seaman). Haifaa Al-Mansour es la directora de cine más célebre de Arabia Saudí, además de ser la primera mujer de su país en tener esta profesión.En 2012 estrenó su primera película: La bicicleta verde, sobre una niña de Arabia Saudí que nunca se rinde. Con su trabajo, Haifaa Al-Mansour promueve la igualdad de género y ayuda a las mujeres a empoderarse.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Haifaa Al-Mansour is one of the most famous filmmakers in Saudi Arabia, and she was also the first woman from Saudi Arabia to ever work in the field.In 2012, she released her first film: Wadjda (also known as The green bicycle), about a girl from Saudi Arabia who never gave up. Through her work, Haifaa Al-Mansour promotes gender equality and help women feel empowered.

Con 14 años publicó su primer poema y a los 17 su primer libro. Sin embargo, poco después vinieron tiempos difíciles, ya que falleció su madre y vivió la guerra. Por motivos así, más adelante, Gloria destacó como defensora de la paz y de la solidaridad.Siendo ya adulta, se centró en escribir cuentos, historietas, canciones, teatro y poesía para niños y niñas. En los últimos años de su vida, ganó muchos premios por sus obras infantiles.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------At just 14 years old, she published her first poem, and at 17, her first book. Unfortunately, Gloria fell on tough times shortly after when her mother died and she was forced to live through a war. Those experiences transformed Gloria years later into an advocate for peace and solidarity.As an adult, she focused on writing stories, songs, theatre and poetry for children. In the final years of her life, she won several awards for her children's literature.

Gloria Fuertes was famous for her simple, yet profound poems. She used very simple vocabulary that was easy to understand and often included slang terms, as well. This made her poetry more fun to read compared to other poems. Have you ever tried to write a poem? Try now! Choose three or four words that you like and try writing a few short phrases (verses) using them. They don't have to rhyme, so you can choose any words you'd like. What about writing a poem using the words football, ball and friendship? Gloria Fuertes destacó por hacer una poesía sencilla, pero profunda. Para ello, solía usar un vocabulario fácil de entender, con palabras de la vida cotidiana. Así, hacer poemas se volvía algo más divertido. ¿Y si intentas escribir uno? Para ello, puedes elegir tres o cuatro palabras que te gusten y escribir algunas frases cortas (versos). Su primer trabajo científico fue como bióloga marina (alguien que estudia la vida en el mar). Su libro The sea around us fue un éxito de ventas internacional y fue traducido a 3o idiomas.Silent Spring, su famoso libro sobre los peligros de los pesticidas y otros productos químicos, se considera una de las obras de no ficción más importantes del siglo XX. Es considerada la madre del movimiento ecologista moderno.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Her first work as a scientist was as a marine biologist (someone who studies sea life). Her book The sea around us was an international bestseller and was translated into 30 languages.Silent Spring, her famous book about the dangers of pesticides and other chemicals, is considered one of the most important nonfiction works of the 20th century. She is called the mother of the modern environmental movement.

Rachel Carson loved to explore the natural world and examine the things she found in nature. Go outside and examine the living things in your yard or park. Take photos or draw pictures of the things you find and label them. If you don`t know what something is, ask someone who might know, or try to look it up in a book or in the internet. Rachel Carson amaba explorar el mundo y examinar las cosas que encontraba en la naturaleza. Sal y examina los seres vivos en tu patio o parque. Toma fotos o dibuja cosas que encuentres y etiquétalas. Como joven científica, Margarita fue ignorada y discriminada por ser mujer. Sin embargo, persistió en sus estudios e investigaciones y se convirtió en una de las científicas más famosas de Europa.Descubrió la ADN polimerasa del virus bacteriano Φ29, que se convirtió en la patente más empleada en España. También fue la primera mujer científica elegida para la Real Academia Española y ganó el prestigioso premio European Inventor Award en 2019.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a young scientist, Margarita was disregarded and discriminated against because she was a woman. However, she persisted in her studies and research and became one of the most famous scientists in Europe.She discovered the bacterial virus Φ29 DNA polymerase, which became the highest-grossing patent in Spain. She was also the first scientific woman ever elected to the Royal Spanish Academy, and she won the prestigious lifetime achievement European Inventor Award in 2019.

Alice Augusta Ball fue una química que logró crear un medicamento para hacer frente a la enfermedad de Hansen, también conocida como lepra. Todo ello, con solo poco más de 20 años y a principios del siglo XX.Además, Alice fue la primera mujer y primera afroamericana que consiguió el Máster en Química en la Universidad de Hawái. En muy poco tiempo, Alice inventó el único tratamiento realmente efectivo contra la lepra y que se usó durante 20 años para curar a muchas personas.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Alice Augusta Ball was a chemist who developed the medication to treat Hansen's Disease, also known as Leprosy. She accomplished this when she was barely 20 years old and at the beginning of the 20th Century.In addition, Alice became the first woman and the first African American woman to earn the Master's Degree in Chemistry at the University of Hawaii. In an incredibly short time period, she invented the only efective medicine to treat Leprosy. Doctors used this treatment for the next 20 years to cure many people.

Kathrine fue la primera mujer en correr la maratón de Boston, que era ilegal para las mujeres en 1967, aunque terminó la carrera a pesar de que muchos hombres intentaron detenerla.El dorsal de carrera de Kathrine fue el 261 la primera vez que corrió la maratón, y este número se ha convertido en un símbolo famoso de la igualdad de las mujeres en el deporte. Además, fundó una organización que promueve clubes de carreras para mujeres en 9 países.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Kathrine was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, which was illegal for women in 1967, and she finished the race even though many men tried to stop her.Kathrine's running bib number was 261 the first time she ran the marathon, and this number has become a famous symbol for women's equality in sport. Teresa Perales es la nadadora paralímpica más condecorada de la historia de España. Desarrolló una enfermedad nerviosa con 19 años y perdió el uso de sus piernas. No había aprendido a nadar de niña, pero decidió que nunca era demasiado tarde para empezar.Además de su carrera en natación, ha sido profesora en la Universidad de Zaragoza y también ha ayudado a inventar nuevos equipos para personas con diversidades funcionales como la suya.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Teresa Perales is the most decorated Paralympian swimmer in Spanish history. She developed a nerve disease when she was 19 and she lost the use of her legs. She hadn't learned swimming as a child, but she decided it was never too late to start.In addition to her swimming career, she has been a teacher at the University of Zaragoza and has also helped invent new equipment for people with disabilities like her.

Think about a sport you love to play. It could be football, basketball, athletics, or even horseback riding. Research how this sport is played by people with physical disabilities. Yusra es de Siria, pero tuvo que huir de su país de origen cuando era adolescente debido a la guerra civil. Así, en los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020 compitió en el Equipo Olímpico de Refugiados.Yusra se convirtió en defensora de las personas refugiadas y fue nombrada la Embajadora de Buena Voluntad más joven de la Agencia para los Refugiados de las Naciones Unidas cuando tenía 19 años.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yusra is from Syria, but she had to flee from her home country as a teeneger because of the civil war. Then, she participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with the Refugee Olympic Team.Yusra became an advocate for refugees and was appointed the youngest ever Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations' Refugee Agency when she was 19 years old.

Yusra wrote a book about her life to give hope to others and inspire them to achieve their dreams. Draw a picture or write about what it would be like if you were in the Olympics. Althea nació en una familia muy humilde que se mudó de Carolina del Sur a Nueva York en busca de un mejor trabajo. Poco después de la mudanza, comenzó a mostrar interés por los deportes de raqueta. Comenzó a ganar trofeos durante su primer año en la academia de tenis.Más tarde, se convirtió en la primera mujer negra en jugar en el US Open y Wimbledon. En 1956 ganó su primer título mundial: Roland Garros. En los años que siguieron, también ganó múltiples campeonatos de Wimbledon y US Open.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Althea was born into a very modest family that moved from South Carolina to New York looking for better work. Shortly after the move, she started to show interest in racket sports. She started winning trophies during her first year at the tennis academy.Later, she became the first black woman to play in the US Open and Wimbledon. In 1956, she won her first worldwide title: Roland Garros. In the years that followed, she also won multiple Wimbledon and US Open championships.

Althea has encouraged many girls to play tennis. However, she had to overcome discrimination in many moments of her career due to the color of her skin. Despite the struggles, she never gave up and she competed in and won many trophies. The media helped her to spread her achievements. En 2019, Divina Maloum fue una de las dos ganadoras del Premio Internacional de la Paz Infantil por su trabajo con su organización Children For Peace.Divina visitó el norte de Camerún en 2014 y fue testigo de primera mano del impacto del extremismo violento en los niños. Para luchar contra esto, Divina creó la organización Children For Peace, que proporciona educación equitativa y promueve la participación de los niños en la construcción de la paz.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 2019, Divina Maloum was one of two winners of the International Children's Peace Prize for her work with her organization Children For Peace.Divina visited northern Cameroon in 2014 and witnessed firsthand the impact of violent extremism on children. To fight back against this, Divina started the organization Children For Peace, which provides peer education and promotes child participation in building peace.

Language barriers can be an issue when trying to share an international message of peace. Because of this, Divina uses drawings created by children to show their stories in a way everyone can understand. She uses these drawings to start conversations about peace. Without using any words, create a picture that shows a message of peace. Las barreras del idioma pueden ser un problema cuando se trata de compartir un mensaje internacional de paz. Clara Campoamor fue sufragista, alguien que aboga por el derecho al voto de las mujeres. Tras estudiar Derecho, comenzó a trabajar en casos legales que afectan a los derechos de las mujeres.Gracias a ella, la Constitución española de 1931 incluyó secciones sobre la igualdad y los derechos de la mujer. Cuando llegó el momento a decidirse sobre el derecho al voto de las mujeres, Clara fue clave para conseguirlo. Debido a esto, hoy existen muchos colegios, calles y hasta premios con el nombre de Clara Campoamor.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Clara Campoamor was a suffragette, someone that advocates for the right for women to vote. Afer she became a lawyer, she inmediately began working on legal cases that impacted the rights of women.Thanks to her, the Spanish Constitution of 1931 included sections about the equality and rights of women. Because of this, today we can find many schools, streets and even awards named Clara Campoamor.

There are all kind of public service jobs for people who want to help others (teachers, doctors, firefighters...). Think of a service job you are interested in. Talk with a family member and/or do some research about that job and write or draw about what you learn. How could you help people in that job? Hay todo tipo de trabajos de servicio público para personas que desean ayudar a otras (maestros, médicos, bomberos...). Piensa en un trabajo de servicio que te interese. MAGDALENARIGO

Con 18 años, Magdalena decidió prepararse para ser bombera y ayudar así a la gente. Había 300 aspirantes para 24 plazas y solo 4 aspirantes eran mujeres. Finalmente, en 1981, ella se convirtió en la primera bombera de España.En 2003, tuvo un accidente que la dejó incapacitada para continuar como bombera. Sin embargo, Magdalena siguió asesorando a otras bomberas y trabajando con la organización internacional Bomberos Sin Fronteras.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------At the age of 18, Magdalena decided she wanted to help people by working as a firefighter. There were 300 candidates for 24 spots and only 4 applicants were women. Finally, in 1981, she became te first woman firefighter in Spain.In 2003, she was in an accident which left her unable to continue her career as a firefighter. However, Magdalena continued mentoring other women firefighters and working with the international organization Firefighters Without Borders.

People said Magdalena was adventurous, stubborn, a problem-solver and a hard worker. These qualities are important for firefighters, and they're also important for footballers. Draw or write about other characteristics of firefighters. Talk with a friend or a family member about how these characteristics can help you when you work with a team, whether it's a football team or a firefighting team. La gente decía que Magdalena era aventurera, tenaz, resolutiva y trabajadora. Estas son cualidades importantes para las bomberas y también para las futbolistas. Dibuja o escribe sobre otras características de los/as bomberos/as. Ruth Bader ginsburg

Ruth fue abogada y jueza en la Corte Suprema de Estados Unidos. Destacó por abogar por la igualdad de género, los derechos de las mujeres y los derechos civiles.Ella estableció el Proyecto de Derechos de la Mujer de la Unión Americana de Libertades Civiles. Además, trabajó para garantizar la igualdad de oportunidades para todos y abogó constatemente por los grupos marginados.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ruth was a lawyer and judge who served as a Supreme Court Justice in the United States. She is known because she advocated for gender equality, women's rights and civil rights.She established the American Civil Liberties Union's Women's Rights Project. In addition, she worked to ensure fair and equal opportunities for everyone and constantly advocated for marginalized groups.

Thanks to Ruth, there are many people from the United States and from other countries who work to fight for gender equality. However, there is still a lot of work left to do. For example, when we look at sports, male and female athletes are treated very differently, specially in the way most media outlets talk about them. Sit with an adult and take a look at one or more online newspapers. Is it easy for you to find news about women's sports? What is most of the news about? Find and read one story about women's sport, then draw a picture about what you understood. Gracias al trabajo de Ruth, hay muchas personas en Estados Unidos y en otras partes del mundo que promueven la igualdad de género. Sin embargo, todavía hay mucho por hacer. Por ejemplo, las mujeres deportistas son discriminadas por la forma en la que son tratadas por algunos medios de comunicación. Junto a una persona adulta, echa un vistazo a uno o varios periódicos deportivos. ¿Es fácil encontrar noticias sobre mujeres deportistas? ¿De qué tratan las noticias?
