OLIVE OIL'S PRODUCTION

The value of the production of the olive oil sector is around € 1,886 million on average from 2007 to 2012. This figure represents 4.6% of the Production of the Agricultural Branch and 7.6% of the Vegetable Production. The crop has a marked social character and it is estimated that it generates some 46 million wages each season.

How much olive oil does spain export

It produces about half the world's total olive oil, of which about 46% is exported, making Spain the world's leading olive oil producer and exporter. Average annual production of olive oil in Spain over recent years has been around 1.75 million tons.
