Per tradurre il verbo DOVEREsi usano intanto questi verbi:

ATTENZIONE!!! L'uso di MUST è limitato solo al presente!

Must è un verbo modale che viene utilizzato, alla forma affermativa, per esprimere un ordine rivolto agli altri o a se stessi o un dovere morale oppure per formulare una supposizione molto probabile. Alla forma negativa invece esprime un divieto.

MUST MUSTN'T

Forma affermativa:soggetto + must + forma base del verbo principale Forma negativa: soggetto + must not/mustn't + forma base del verbo principale Forma interrogativa: ATTENZIONE!!! Non si può usare MUST alla forma interrogativa e allora si usa HAVE TO

e.g. She must go. I must do my homework. He must be at home. You mustn't go there!

HAVE TO traduce tutti tempi!

HAVE TO

Have to viene utilizzato per esprimere in senso del tutto generale il dovere o la necessità di fare qualcosa che trae origine dall'esterno, cioè da una prescrizione, un obbligo, un'autorità o anche dalle circostanze. La coniugazione di "have to" segue la regola di "have" (e.g. has/had)

Forma affermativa:soggetto + have to/has to + forma base del verbo principale Forma negativa: soggetto + don't/doesn't have to + forma base del verbo principale Forma interrogativa: do/does + soggetto + have to + forma base del verbo principale

e.g. I have to leave immediately. Do they have to come here? You don't have to finish your homework now.

e.g. You should call her. Should I go there?

SHOULD è il condizionale di DOVERE e viene utilizzato per chiedere o dare consigli e per fare supposizioni e per esprimere un dovere morale.
