This is a sample goal. Population Accountability Goals for the agency will be announced in early 2022.
These indicators are also samples; official ACOE Population Indicators will be announced in early 2022. Notice that these Indicators measure the success of our target population (i.e., all students in Alameda County) rather than our client population (i.e., people directly served by our programs).
Clients are people who are served directly by your department. Although RAAP's work benefits teachers and students, these groups are not listed here because RAAP does not directly serve them.
In creating Performance Measures for your department, it may be helpful to think of your work in terms of "buckets" and then reflect on how measures can be developed for each bucket that align to the Goal and Indicator.
Create Performance Measures that align with your Population Indicator(s). How can your Performance Measures help you understand your department's impact on improving the Population Indicators?
In the "Is anyone better off?" column, your Performance Measures will become closer to (or the same as) the Population Indicator.
Your most important Performance Measures will become your "Headline Measures." Select Performance Measures that most closely align to “turning the curve” for your Population Indicator. Then, rephrase the Performance Measures so that they sound like headlines that could be shared to the public. Remove any technical language or "edu-speak" to create accessible headlines.
Your Data Development Agenda helps you understand next steps for your Performance Measures. What data do you currently have? What data will require the creation of new systems/processes?
