The FSIS is a "science-based national system" that works to guarantee that the food produced and sold is safe. They work with meat, poultry, eggs, and even animal handling. Their goal is to protect animals and ensure the food we consume is healthy and safe.
FSIS stands for Food Safety and Inspection Service
What does FSIS stand for and what is their main purpose
A. The Federal Meat Inspection Act ensures meats are not misbranded and are produced and handled sanitarily. B. The Poultry Products Inspection Act ensures that all birds are inspected before processed or sold. C. The Egg Products Inspection Act ensures that all egg products are safe to be consumed for processing and selling. D. The Humane Methods of Slaughter Act ensures animals are treated humanely, so they endure the least amount of possible suffering when being slaughtered. These operations involve animal production because they use grown animals for food purposes. The animals are produced to be used for food. For example eggs and poultry are from birds while meat comes fro cattle and other animals like pigs.
