What does the industry have against 'larger people'?

Why do we have to look a certain way to get cast for roles we are skilled enough to do?

"If it were a rule, across the board, that what mattered in an actress was her talent, personality, and ability, not her physical form - size 14 + actresses would be out there consistently bringing the house down in 'Annie Get Your Gun', 'Wicked', 'The Last Five Years' and 'Anything Goes' would have much more size- diverse ensembles."

Tracy's character is described as 'pleasantly plump'.

Many typecast 'fat' as being ugly or undesirable.
