Mars Attacks is an American movie created by Tim BURTON, in 1996. It is a parody of the 50s sci-fi alien movies. It depicts invasion of our planet by aliens with the typical flying saucer, who came to destroy the world , especially the USA but also the rest of the earth. This invasion-alien-plot is often use in the 50s, period when the cold war began. Tim Burton wanted to show the absurd of this kind of movie.

In this extract we see the invasion of the white house by martiens, thus theree are the threat. The Americain are threatened they are screaming, they form a crowd because they rurning in groups. The music is also important in these action scene is typicall alien music. As a viewer, because the music is fast and loud the bits hearth is speed-up and show the danger as a viewer.

Contrary to the first extract this are is about the world and not just about America because many emblematic places are targeted by the Alien.

The article bring many interpretation about the real meaning of Mars Attack. Indeed the invasion martiens represente the cold war between United States and the USSR. Finally the writer insist or the hilarious aspect of the movie. The director, Tim BURTON wait to show the ridiculous view of the Cold War.The story of Mars Attack was basically a conflict about ideological and geopolitical struggle for global influence, dominance.

Conclusion

In the first video we saw in class a man say that a monster is a mentally and physically detestable and it represented evil. But we see in the movie that alien are not detestable but just humoristic and not scary. Even though the martiens destroy all in there way. We conclude that aliens represented communist. So we can deduct the martien are fears on the outside for the american to the soviet, in the cold war because the americans represented capitalism and the soviet the communism ( also there is the space race , there are spying both side etc ). Also we can add that american people dosen't want to thinking that USA could be a communist states. So wee can say Mars Attack show fear inside american people.
