With a competitive background in motocross, BMX, downhill and enduro racing, it’s clear that I like going fast and having fun on two wheels (and sometimes one). I’ve always considered myself a ‘good’ rider, but I never took time to build fitness and really train for something that takes time, patience and planning. Gravel has introduced this new world of discipline to me, where consistency is often king (and queen) rather than bouts of talent and luck combined to pull off a heroic finish. A finish in this gravel world means so much more than being at the top of a podium (or even on a podium for that matter). A finish is accomplishing a goal that you set out to conquer – gravel friends make this possible.
