Where does my last name come from?

Tufic was my great-grandfather who born in 1900 and in 1912 with only 12 years old, he decide to leave Lebanon and go to Mexico for 2 reasons. 1-Because there was the ottoman empire on Lebanon.2-Because his relatives lived there (in Mexico), who also went from Lebanon to Mexico. He leaves in boat and when he arrived he did not have any money, he did not speak Spanish but he wanted to get ahead, he came from a country that was totally unsettled and where there was no peace, so to get ahead he decided to be a merchant, and he got married and had 3 children: My grandfather, Jorge, was the oldest.

My last name is from Zahlé which is in Lebanon

One of the friends that my great-grandfather Tufic made was Adolfo Lopéz Mateos (The ex-president of Mexico), and at the opening of the Lebanese club, Adolfo Lopez Mateos said: "El que no tenga un amigo libanés...¡Que se lo busque!

What do you admire from that ancestor. How is he an inspiration to you?

And it inspired me to fight for whatever I want to achieve, no matter how old I am.I also admire my parents for being the people they are, because they always support me, they take care of me, because they are always with me, and Iam so grateful to life for giving me the parents I have and because they are the people they are.

What I think is that he felt sad because he left everything behind at the age of only 12, he left his friends, his country, his language, he left his parents to have a path with a greater future and better opportunities.

How do you think your ancestor felt when he left everything behind.

I admire because he moved on at the age of 12, and not only did he get ahead of him, but he also brought forward his 3 nephews who were orphans of father and mother.

Thanks for your atention
