COP26: such a big deal!

Teacher: Stefania Donatia.s. 2021/2022

Climate change is causing problems all over the world. Compared with 40 years ago, we have almost five times more floods, droughts, heatwaves and other natural disasters today. And some of the poorest people in the world are the ones most in danger from climate change. That's why the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres recently said: it's necessary to reduce climate change – before it is too late.

"Before it's too late!"

The United Nations (UN), an international organisation of the majority of countries around the world, want to work together to discuss global problems. They try to find ways to solve them for the entire planet. Climate change is one of those problems. In fact, it is a BIG issue affecting the whole world and all of humanity: real people; precious animals; delicate ecosystems and all living things. The PARTIES meet to find solutions.

United to change!

We can all work together to make changes that will create a world where nature and humans can live side by side, harmoniously.

The average global temperature is increasing. COP26 must find a way to limit this increase to 1.5°C and help countries adapt to the changes to come!

COP26 – Our Climate Our FutureIt's time to do something!

The event has 4 goals:1. reducing emissions, reducing the use of fossil fuels, protect trees and forests, use more electric vehicles and invest in clean energy;2. help countries to adapt to the changing climate, to protect their natural environment and find ways to protect people from climate problems, such as by building defences against natural disasters. 3. To raise funds and 4. To work together And then take action quickly.
