Early life

1789, The French Revolution

War of the First Coalition (1792 - 1797)

- 1796, During a coordinated attack he stole the spotlight by making a lot of progress while the other armies were being held back.- May 10, 1796, The Battle of Lodi.- 28 years old and he basically, single-handedly, took Austria out of the war.

- He was born in 1769 in the island of Corsica.- 1785, he graduated from a French MIlitary academy.

He began to rise in the ranks- Brigadier- General.- Major General- Army of the Interior.

The Consulate

War of the Second Coalition (1799 - 1802)

- New national bank, new centralized legal code "The Napoleonic code", further reformed education, brought back the church with power limitations, etc... - Unfortunately he also got rid of women's rights.- 2nd of December, 1804 - He crowned himself emperor.

Him & Emmanuel Sieyes trapped the government through lies, convinced themto give up their power and created a new constitution. A new government was formed.

- 1800, moved his army to Geneva and proceeded to takehis army through the Alps to pull a surprise attack on the Austrians besieging Genoa. -14 June, 1800, Battle of Marengo.- 1802 - Treaty of Amiens of UK & France.

- 1798, he was sent to Egypt, things didn´t go as planned so he went back and made himslef to still be seen as the hero.

Downfall

- Napoleon received and ultimatum from the Prussian king. - Battle of Jena - Auerstedt, 14 Oct, 1806 . - Battle of friedland, 14 June, 1807. - He won, again and re-established a French aristocracy .

- Briefly summarized, Napoleon got into some wars and his ambition was finally his weakness, he was forced to abdicate the throne in 1840 and with the Treaty of Fontainebleau he was exiled to the Mediterranean island off the coast of italy. - He tried to go back, failed, once again in 1815 he was forced to abdicate and was exiled to Saint helena. - He died at the age of 51 on May 5, 1821.
