Abel Makkonen Tesfaye known by his stage name The Weeknd, is a Canadian singer, songwriter and producer, known for hits like Save Your Tears, Blinding Lights, Rockin among others. He began gaining recognition in late 2010, when he anonymously uploaded several songs to YouTube under the name The Weeknd. During 2011 he released three nine-track mixtapes, titled House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, which were highly acclaimed by critics. The following year, he released his first compilation work titled Trilogy, with thirty remastered tracks from his mixtapes. and three more songs. It was released by the record companies Republic Records and XO.

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, commonly known as The Weeknd (February 16, 1990) singer, songwriter and producer. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Toronto, Canada. His parents, Makkonen and Samra Tesfaye, an Ethiopian migrant couple who came to Canada in the 1980s. From a young age he began to smoke marijuana, unfortunately he continued with stronger drugs. In his youth he had problems with the authorities on several occasions, robbing a local supermarket with his friend from high school. Although he attended West Hill Collegiate Institute and Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute, he did not graduate. This was why he adopted The Weeknd as his stage name, so producer Jeremy Rose suggested modifying the spelling to avoid patent issues with Canadian band The Weekend.

I like the weeknd because first of all I like music in English and it has songs that I really like, I think it sings very well and is humble. He is a great singer, a good composer, his songs are not rude like those of other authors.
