Emily Dickinson was an American poet. She was born in 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts, the USA. She lived a very quiet life with her parents and sister. She rarely travelled but she was interested in the outside world. She wrote hundreds of poems about nature: plants, animals, seasons ... But she never published any while she was alive.
