WHO IS RABIN?
Yitzhak Rabin Born - March 1, 1922 – was an Israeli politician and general. He was born in Jerusalem. He was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel from 1974 until 1977 and again from 1992.
Yitzhak Rabin was one of the three recipients of the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize. The others were Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres. All three got the prizes for trying to make peace in the Middle East.
Some Israelis were unhappy with Rabin’s peacemaking. An assassin shot and killed Rabin on November 4, 1995, in Tel Aviv–Yafo, Israel.He is buried on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.

Rabin served as Israel’s ambassador to the United States from 1968 to 1973.
In 1964 Rabin was appointed chief of staff of Israel’s armed forces. He helped lead Israel to victory in the Six-Day War of 1967.
In World War II, Rabin fought for the Palmach, a Jewish military force.
