Masks & Vaccinations

All staff will be wearing masks while on campus

Primary and secondary students are required to wear a mask indoors unless they have a medical exemption

&

Certain exceptions apply as per Department of Education (DoE) guidance.All staff, contractors and volunteers will be vaccinated in line with the current Public Health order and to fulfil the school's obligation under WHS law.

Primary students (K-4) mandatory mask-wearing will expire after November 10, the last day of the Year 12 IB final exams.Mandatory mask wearing for all staff on campusMandatory mask wearing for students on the school bus and indoors (excluding preschool students and those with medical exemptions).Mask-wearing outdoors is strongly recommended for students (commencing 25 October). A strong plea to parents to have all children vaccinated as soon as they become eligible and the vaccines become available (for 12-year-olds and up, this is the case now).

NSW Health has asked AISNSW to disseminate the following information to schools:NSW Health strongly urges all students aged 12-15 years to receive two doses of either Pfizer of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible before returning to school.

To reduce student contact and interaction on campus.Primary and secondary campus will be separated in stages.GISS Kiosk will resume 'normal' takeaway operation for staff and secondary school students (except students taking IB exams).Primary school and preschool will remain pre-order only and may not go to the kiosk.

Activities permitted with special COVID precautions

Library activities are permitted in-line with Infection Control practices in place.Singing, band and choir are only permitted in stages.

We will use outside spaces or in indoor areas with plenty of cross ventilation and with students able to spread out at least 1.5 m in each direction

Multiple groups may not mingle in the library. Only permitted individual groups in an assigned stage.

We hope that many on and off campus activities can still resume during term 4. This includes sports, excursions and some end of year events.

Pick-up & Drop-off

Preschool drop-off and pick-up procedures will remain as isParents may pick-up their primary school children between 3pm and 3.15pm at the Kiss & Drop Zone.Junior secondary students will remain in class with their teachers until 3.15pmSenior secondary students will self-checkout via the app

Parents may pick-up their child by foot from the Kiss & Drop Zone

Parent waiting areas will be clearly marked at the main entrance to campus.

Parents with children in primary and secondary school should pick them up after 3:15PM. Staff will supervise primary students until they are picked up with their older siblings.

Sorry, only students and staff are allowed on campus during school hours.Parents picking up their children on foot should enter through the school’s main entrance and use the designated waiting area on the lawn above the Preschool.You must sign in with the NSW QR code, wear a mask while on school grounds and follow social distancing guidelines.For essential meetings on campus, please call to book an appointment.

Visitors

Our school campus is open only to staff and students during school hours. Visitors must have a prior appointment before entering campus!

Teachers will work to include students through hybrid teaching options but we encourage families to send children back to campus.

Off-campus hybrid learning

Please discuss the off-campus learning options with your class teacher and inform them by October 13 if you plan on keeping your child/children at home.

And our school on Myoora Road is the best place for teaching, learning and social interaction.

Cleaning & Hygiene

2x daily cleaning of high touch surfaces, including playground equipment

Classroom & staffroom ventilation protocols will be adhered to in all classrooms

HEPA filtration installed in all classrooms, library & staffrooms

If students present to sick bay with cold/flu like symptoms, staff will take their temperature and call their parents/carers to collect their child from school.Students cannot return to school unless they have provided the school with a negative COVID test.
