School Bullying

When a student feels unsafe at school, it is often because he/ she/they is/are a victim of violence. Harassment occurs when the violence is repetitive, with malicious intent and that the victim is unable to defend herself. Usually the victim have to face : hits, pushing, stealing, damage of school equipment or clothing, sexual assaults...10% of students are harassed, approximately 85% of harassment is carried out by groups and 4.9% of students are subjected to severe physical and/or moral harassment (12,326 in primary school).

Lorsqu’un élève ne se sent pas en sécurité à l’école, c’est souvent parce qu’il est victime de violence. On parle de harcèlement lorsque cette violence est répétitive, avec une intention de nuire et que la victime se trouve dans l’incapacité de se défendre. Les victimes doivent généralement faire face à des coups, des bousculades, des vols, des dégradations de matériel scolaire ou de vêtements, des agressions sexuelles... 10 % des élèves sont harcelés, environ 85 % du harcèlement est effectué par des groupes et 4,9 % des élèves subissent un harcèlement physique et/ou moral grave (12 326 à l'école primaire).

Le harcèlement sexuel est le fait d’imposer de manière répétée des propos ou comportements à connotation sexuelle ou sexiste qui soit portent atteinte à sa dignité en raison de propos à caractère dégradant ou humiliant, soit créent une situation intimidante, hostile ou offensante.Le harcèlement sexuel peut prendre des formes diverses : chantage à l'embauche ou à la promotion, menaces de représailles en cas de refus de céder à des avances sexuelles. Chaque année en France, 93 000 femmes déclarent avoir été victimes de viol ou tentative de viol. Dans 90 % des cas, la victime connaît son agresseur. Et 80 % des femmes salariées considèrent qu’elles sont régulièrement confrontées à des attitudes ou décisions sexistes

Harassment in Public Places

Le harcèlement de rue, se sont des comportements adressés à des personnes dans les espaces publics, visant à les interpeller verbalement et ou physiquement : sifflement, insulte, attouchement… Ces comportements sont insistants, irrespectueux, humiliants, menaçants. En france en 2017, environ 1 million de femmes ont été confrontées au moins une fois à une situation de harcèlement sexuel au travail ou dans les espaces publics. 89% des femmes et 16% des hommes sont déjà fait siffler dans la rue.

Behaviors directed at people in public places, aimed at verbally and/or physically challenging them: whistling, insulting, touching... These behaviors are insistent, disrespectful, humiliating. Most of the time the victim is bullied because of their gender, skin color, disability or sexual orientation.In 2017, out of the 1,650 testimonies collected by SOS homophobia, LGBT+ victims of harassment were mostly men (58%), women accounting for 21% of victims. And transgender people represent 5% of the testimonies.
