Who are some of the mythological heroes of ancient Greece? Some heroes include Odysseus from the Odyssey, who is also a Trojan War hero, who journeyed for 10 years to get back to his home and family. Write at least three ways that ancient Greek culture is reflected in today’s society. One way that Greek Culture has reflected on us today is the Olympics. Back then they were held every four years in honor of the god Zeus. Another way is the architecture. Even today the way the pillars are designed still reflect the designs, like the white house. The third way is mythology. Greek mythology is often read and sometimes taught to, whether for entertainment or just learning about it in general. It sometimes is even referenced to, like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, or the achilles heel. https://owlcation.com/humanities/Greek-Influences-today

There is Hera, the goddess of women and marriage, and the queen of gods, and her husband Zeus, the king of gods and god of weather, law, and fate. Aphrodite is the god of beauty and love, while Apollo is the god of poetry, music, prophesy, and knowledge. Ares is the god of war, Athena, the goddess of wisdom and defense, Demeter, being the goddess of agriculture and grains, Artemis being the goddess of hunting, animals, and childbirth. We also have Poseidon who is the god of the sea, and Hades, the god of the underworld. https://www.history.com/topics/ancient-history/greek-mythology

How did people in ancient Greece use storytelling to explain the world around them? They would read it out, usually in poem form so the story can be heard and passed down from generation to generation. Some were also incorporated into plays, which would also help the stories pass on. https://www.history.com/topics/ancient-history/greek-mythology
