Ben Heine was born in June 1983 Ivory Coast. He lives and works in Belgium. Ben Heine graduated in journalism and he is self-taught in drawing, photography and music. He worked for 10 years as communication manager in Belgium. His works generally represent a 2D hand sketch held and photographed by the artist in a specific location. He combines photography and drawing, adding surreal elements. Between 2010 and 2016, his creations were admired by the public through exhisbitions and reports.

Victor Vasarely was an Austrian artist. He was born in April 1906. He died on the 15th of March 1997, at the age of 90 years old. In 1937, he created Zebras. This piece of art shows a spiral in the shape of zebras, in black and white. It’s exhibited at the Pompidou centre in Paris.

Gustav Klimt was born on the 14th of July 1862 in Baumgarten and died on the 6th of February 1918. He was Austrian and practiced the painting with the movement of New Art and the movement of Sessession of Vienna. The piece of art "the Kiss" was painted between 1908 and 1909. It is exposed at the palace of Belvedere in Vienna. It is an oil on canvas that measures 180 cm by 180 cm. It is the costliest painting of the world. We can see a bed of floowers and herbs in the bottom. In the center, there are two people that are kissing, the gilded cloak embraces the lovers. The background is brown. The man has ivy leaves in his hair and the woman has flowers in her hair.

Jean-François Perroy, best known as Jef aerosol, is a French artist. He was born in Nantes on the 15th of January 1957. He is also a musician. He has been doing street art since the eighties. Before becoming an artist, he was an English teacher. He painted his first stencil in Tours in 1982. A large part of his work is devoted to anonymous people of the street like musicians, passers-by, beggars, children… He painted on the walls of many cities: Paris, Marseille, Rome, Chicago, Tokyo, Marrakech, Barcelona and more. A large exhibition was dedicated to him in 2011 at the Avelines museum (Saint Cloud, next to Paris). Jef Aerosol is a sponsor of charities such as “Le secours populaire” on the occasion of SOLID’ART or SKIN which are events organised to fight against breast cancer.

Claude Monet is an impressionist painter born on the 14th oh November 1840 and he died on the 5th December 1926. Claude Monet painted "Nympheas" between 1914 and 1926. This painting is at the metropolitan museum of art since 2002. He painted it in France, in his house's garden. On the painting, we can see a brook with a bridge. On the water, there is a lot of flowers called "nympheas".

Leonard de Vinci was was born in Italy in1452. He died in 1519. He was an Italian painter, engineer, scientist, theorist, draughtsman, sculptor and architect. Mona Lisa is probably his most famous painting in the world. He painted it between 1503 and 1506. It’s a portrait of Florentine Lisa Gherardini known as Mona Lisa. On the painting we can see a woman sitting. We can see some mountains in the background. The painting was made in a realistic kind. It’s exhibited at the museum of Le Louvre in Paris. This painting is famous because it feels like Mona Lisa is staring at us. Mona Lisa looks like many Renaissance depictions of Blessed Mother who was at that time seen as an ideal of womanhood.

Vincent Van Gogh was born in 1853 in Netherlands and died in 1890.He was famous for his art. His paintings are worth millions. This painting is called The Starry Night. It was made in France in 1889. Alexandre Farto, best known as Vhils, is a Portuguese street artist. He is born in 1987. He studied 2D/3D graphics and animation in Lisbon. He moved to London in 2007. He studied at Central Saint Martin College. In 2008, one of his piece of art was exhibited with Banksy’s art. Today, he is recognised for his incredibly poetic, revolutionary and unique style.

Nicolae Grigorescu is from Romania. He was born in 1838 in Vacaresti. He died on the 21st of July 1907. He followed in the footsteps of the painter Anton Chladek. He painted 46 pieces of art between 1850 and 1861. He painted The Little girl with red headscarf. On this piece of art, we can see a little girl with a red scarf on her head. Le background is as dark as her eyes. She is as pale as a porcelain doll.

Nicolae Grigorescu was from Romania. He was born in 1838 in a village named Vacaresti. He died on the 21st of July 1907. In 1843, he moved to Bucarest. A few years later, he became an art student, being taught by a tcheck painter Anton Chladek. The painting Peasant Woman from Muscel was painted in 1874, it is a very realistic portrait of a woman on a brown background. She is wearing a veil on her head. She wears jewelry. This piece of art is dark with a lot of contrast with vibrant colours. It is an oil painting.

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, in 1881 and he died in April 1973. He was a painter, a drawer, a sculptor and a spanish engraver. Guernica is famous painting of Picasso. He painted in 1937. On the left, we can see a bull, a woman who screams her pain with a child in her arms. In the center, a horse collapses, a warrior cut in half, his left hand open, his right hand clenched on a broken weapon. On the right, a woman was transformed into a torch. There is the body of another woman, with a misshapen foot. Picasso's work distorts the characters, transforming them into monsters, usual facts in expressionist painting. The peculiarity of Picasso is that these monsters do not refer to a dream or to the subconscious, but to a reality. It combines expressionism and symbolism.

Salvator Dali was born in Figuras on the 11th of May 1904 and he died in the same city on the 23rd of January 1989. He was a Catalan painter, a sculptor, a scriptwriter, an engraver and a writer. He was considered as one of the most representative painter of Surrealism of the 20th century. He painted Ship with butterfly sails in 1937 with oil painting. There are butterflies on a boat on the water. In the foreground, we can see people and in the background we can see the sky.

Anders Leonard Zorn was born in 1860 and died in 1920. He was from Sweden. He was a painter but also a sculptor. He was married with Emma Zorn but they didn’t have kids. There is a museum in Sweden where we can see all of his art, in particular the painting “Midnight”. He painted it in 1891. In the foreground, there’s a woman who wears a green and grey dress. She has her hair in a bun, she is on a bark lightened by the sunset. There is a river, the water of the river reflects the trees and the pretty sky. At the bottom, on the right, we can see the artist’s signature.
