Advantages and Disadvantages of a Solar System Model
By: Aarush Bhadragiri
A model of a solar system is great for showing basic facts about the solar system. They are also easy to move around and make. Which makes them the perfect tool for a presentation.
Advantages
While the model gives an easy way to figure order. Many things are inaccurate for instance you can't figure out the actual distance between objects, and many smaller dwarf planets, moons, the asteroid belt. And other information are left out.
Disadvantages
- Called gas giants
- Far away from the sun
- Long period of revolution around the sun
- Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune are huge and don't have solid surfaces.
- Outer plantes are much farther apart than the inner planets
- Planets
- Orbit Sun
- Rotate on axis
- Terrestrial
- Small and rocky surfaces
- Have a solid surface
- Close to Sun
- Short revolution around sun
- Venus is the only one that has a rotation
Outer Planets
Inner Planets
Venn diagrams are great when it comes to comparing things. This includes the solar system as well. It's also very easy to pack it full of interesting and useful facts. Which makes them very fun to use.

Advantages ofA venn Diagram
While a Venn diagram can give simple facts. You need a more elaborate explanation for more complex facts.Venn diagrams also lack images that make for easier understanding. A well as not having the ability to explain a wide range of information. You have to stick to one topic. They can also be misinterpreted at times.
